Pro Challenge “Meltdown” Event Now a One-Day Show
Drivers from US and Canada Will Qualify and Race on Same Day, November 25th at South Boston
Drivers and teams of the Aaron’s Pro Challenge Series now get one extra day to enjoy their Thanksgiving leftovers.  Along with the Pro Challenge stars, the best Tour-Type Modified, PASS South Super Late Model and INEX Legends Car drivers in the country will invade South Boston Speedway in Virginia Friday November 24th and Saturday 25th for two days of the best racing anywhere this fall.

The good news for the Pro Challenge folks is that while the rest of the drivers are at the track on Friday the 24th practicing and qualifying, they can enjoy the on-track action at South Boston while munching on turkey sandwiches and leftover stuffing, as all Pro Challenge activity, including practice, time trials and the $1,500-to-win 50-lap feature event will take place on Saturday the 25th.
“The one-day format will benefit all of the Pro Challenge teams at the ‘Mason-Dixon Meltdown,’ said event co-promoter Bob Dillner.  “Many Pro Challenge teams asked for it to be a one-day show, much like the Legends events, and we listened.  Team can still arrive on Friday if they wish, but only to check out all of the great action of the PASS South Super Late Models and Tour-Type Modifieds in their practice and qualifying events, and the Legends Car features.  By practicing, qualifying and racing on Saturday, Pro Challenge competitors will be aligned with two of the most popular forms of short-track racing in the country, the Super Late Models and Modifieds for their feature races on Saturday.”

If teams arrive on Friday, they will be permitted to park their haulers in the designated pit areas for the Pro Challenge Series.  If they wish to stay in the pit area, each crewmember will be required to purchase a two-day pit pass for the event.

Entries for the Pro Challenge portion of the “Mason-Dixon Meltdown” have been pouring in
since the event was announced several weeks ago.  Drivers from Delaware, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida and even as far away as Canada have already added their names to the list of entries for the Pro Challenge portion of the “Meltdown.”

Saturday’s November 25th Pro Challenge event (50-laps) is just part of the action-packed weekend at South Boston Speedway.  The festivities kick off Saturday the 24th, with practice and time trials for the Tour-Type Modifieds and PASS South Super Late Models, as well as the Legends Cars Semi-Pro and Pro/Masters classes taking battle to close out the night.

Saturday, the excitement continues with the Pro Challenge Series events and features for the Super Late Models and Modifieds.  Check out the full weekend schedule, as well as entry forms for all of the events at the official website of the “Mason-Dixon Meltdown,” www.masondixonmeltdown.com.
